BIAS AMP - This is not another software for...

Is there anyone else who has not heard about BIAS?

POSITIVE GRID brings together not only those more idigital oriented, nteractive and open guitarists...

This company is moving forward and is not afraid of reaching for famous names as well as hardened real hardware amp purists...

Despite the great promotion and effective e marketing, opinions about the BIAS series and POSITIVE GRID itself are highly polarized . Apart from admiration and praise, there are also some critics...

There are even suspicions that the company offers its products in exchange for broadly understood and quite aggressive marketing,

Apart from admiration and praise, there are also some critical opinions..

In the web  there are even suspicions that the company created a base of so-called fan boys, which are offered their products in exchange for broadly understood and quite aggressive marketing...

How is it really?

What is the truth about the "revolutionary" character of BIAS?

Does this series presented as a new standard, really deserves to be called a step forward?

Does BIAS AMP really look so impressive in comparison to the others amp sims in the market?

POSITIVE GRID is a brand that has become famous for a series of very successful amp applications for phones and tablets users. Recognizing the gap in this field, they turned their attention to the rapidly growing group of digital tablet guitar players, creating in the opinion of many the best possible marriage between convincing sound and modern technology of the twenty-first century.

Now the same award-winning, breakthrough app is also available for users of personal computers.

This is not another app for amateurs.

Well, POSITIVE GRID provides software other than all.

Is it the best available? Is it revolutionary? I do not know. For sure, however, with great potential.

The problem with software amplifiers is that each producer smuggles into their sound a certain print - appropriate for a given manufactory. For a given supplier ... It is not different in this case ...

Here we come to the biggest BIAS problem which seem to be the nomen omen of its factory amplifiers,..

The choice of tubes is made by indicating their series, their model...

We were given three types of tubes to choose from, and unfortunately we do not get any information about which brands have been incorporated into the digital BIAS environment ...

Each type of virtual tubes has its own distinctive character. By changing their type, we change not only the headrom and the saturation , but also the character of the sound, and the behavior of the amplifier.

In the case of PG, I have a dilemma, a serious dilemma ...

The topology of amplifiers is very faithfully reproduced. All you have to do is play with the Master pot, which not only increases the overall volume but also puts the power amplifier in motion and thus changes the character and saturation of the sound...

This is clearly evident in the models that are the virtual complexion of British Plexiglass heads ... where the final character of the sound is achieved by the correlation of the preamplifier and power amplifiers tubes.

It is modern, although a bit digitally. On the other hand, wide and upfront.

On the pros side you should also point the topology mapping of individual models of amplifiers.

The character of individual units really deserves praise. The transistor amplifier not only sounds but also behaves differently than a typical representative of the British 100W colossus. The tube class A combo sounds true and totally different in contrast to the huge high gain monster born in California...

If You take into account that this is only software, this value makes a huge impression!

On the other hand...

The editing parameters could be even more extensive. There could be more ...  We have a huge impact on the most important aspects of the sound. There is a lot of everything, but the longer I deal with this software the more I have the impression that PG could push the whole concept further ...

Even more seriously, stronger and overall more convincing ...

Topological and sonorous fidelity to some of the proposed models is still not as it should.  Do not get me wrong

BIAS is a decent, solid, very useful and visionary piece of  software.

Software, whose editing capabilities, in many aspects, put him outside of competition.

BIAS is the only such software on the market.

It has its own atmosphere and character of its recipients. Everything depends on the needs of the project and the way of work. From how we interpret the sound in a nutshell - who likes what...

,

Bias sets a certain direction. It is a turning point  and  there are many indications that it will become a trend...

Ideally fits into the current aesthetics in current species ...

For me, however, it should sound better straight out of the box.

Without the help of the equalizer, additional matching, and other treatments necessary to extract all of the potential from it...

If we treat it as a full-fledged multi-effect with its own characteristic sound, its value will increase

Its distortion of  any of high gain amplifiers definitely stand out against the background
competitive ampmodeler available today...

For this price it is really worth ... opportunities and climate
PG often reduces the price so you can get the whole for really reasonable money
Useful and interesting software
If you play hard, it's something for you!
